According to ezinereligion, in 2007, Andorra had an estimated population of 81,000 people. The majority of the population was Spanish and French. The economy was largely based on tourism, with retailing and banking being other major sources of income. Andorra had a customs union with the European Union (EU) and adopted the euro as its official currency in 2002. In terms of foreign relations, Andorra had close ties with its two neighboring countries, Spain and France. It also maintained diplomatic relations with several other countries such as Italy, Portugal, Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom. Politically, Andorra was a parliamentary co-principality ruled by two princes: the President of France and the Bishop of Seu d'Urgell (in Spain).
